About Grosmont

Grosmont's Book Club

Tuesday 12th May 2009

Bookworms is the Grosmont Bookclub, founded in 2005, since when we have read and discussed a wide variety of novels, new and old.
We meet monthly in one another's homes to discuss the chosen book and there are presently vacancies for new members.  The only qualifications are the time to read one book a month, a passionate interest in reading novels of all periods and styles, and a willingness to discuss your reactions and opinions with other members.

To give an idea of our range, the following is a selection of some of the books read in the last 4 years.

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Human Traces by Sebastian Faulkes
Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky
Resistance by Owen Shears
Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseiri
Northern Lights by Philip Pullman
Atonement by Ian McEwan
The Agony and The Ecstasy by Irving Stone

So if you are interested call 01981 240349.

Membership is free and open to anyone in the Greater Grosmont area.
