THE ANGEL INN

The Angel Inn is a traditional inn situated in the heart of the village where visitors are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome from the owners and staff.

The Angel, which dates back to the 17th century, offers a great range of real ales and ciders, complemented by a traditional pub menu that includes local homemade, award-winning Welsh sausages from Rawlings in Abergavenny.

Our selection of real ales has won us an entry in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and we are also included in the Good Pub Guide.

During the winter months you can enjoy your drink by an open log fire and in the sunny summer months you can sit and take in the stunning views of the Greig Hill and Skirrid Mountain from our balcony.

Music is an essential element of The Angel, which regularly hosts live music from guest bands as well as from many talented local musicians – evenings not to be missed. And if you pop in for a drink you’ll often find someone picking out a few chords – if you’ve come without yours, you’re welcome to choose a guitar off the wall and join in.

You can eat in the bar or, if it’s a more intimate occasion, we can offer you a table in our small, attractively furnished dining room, a space that can also be hired for parties.

In 2006, The Angel Inn had a cameo role in the feature film, The Baker starring Damian Lewis and Michael Gambon. Renamed The Daffodil for its screen appearance, the sign is now, along with other props from the movie, part of the pub’s eclectic furnishings.

The Angel is also the venue for most village group meetings and fields darts, quiz and boules teams.
