His skills extend from fine stonework and carving to general masonry work, and lime mortar use. He works on all aspects of masonry, from design of new and replacement stone and carvings, surveys of replacement architectural features, procurement of stone and other materials, 'plastic' repair methods, and reinforcing weak stone. He has an eye for restoration in terms of either replicating original styles or replacement 'as new'.
A non-exhaustive list of applications includes: Working in the ground on ancient foundations alongside archaeologists, floors (including complex terrazzo and mosaic) and paving, carvings exernal and internal, ashlar and rubble walls, windows arches and vaulting, outside stone walling, drystone, marble and travetine flooring and panelling, sensitive reduction of damp and water ingress, lime work and tadelakt features, ornate and rubbed brick, and bespoke carved or constructed feature items in terms of both design and fixing.
